Ruto’s firm hand grip, steely gaze sends Mutua to police station.


Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua says that he fears for his life after Deputy President William Ruto allegedly threatened to crush him.

Dr Mutua made the claim in a press conference in Nairobi on Monday after he recorded a statement at the Kilimani Police Station.

The Machakos governor said he was at State House on invitation from the President during the reception for the Barbados prime minister when the DP Ruto threatened him.

“[He shook my hand firmly and said he would crush me because I have been attacking him. He gave me a steely look and spoke with harshness, and I know he has the resources to crush me,” said Dr Mutua.

DP Ruto supposedly issued the threats on December 11, 2019, near the earshot of Orange Democratic Movement Raila Odinga with whom Dr Mutua had been conversing with prior to the scary encounter.

The Machakos leader also he was threatened by Dr Ruto’s allies, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen.
