Journalist Wanja is now accusing Moses Kuria of intentionally fingering her and laughing uncontrollably to embarrass her. The aggrieved woman says the Gatundu South Member of parliament attacked her when she confronted him over his remarks during a fundraiser in Kiambu.
Kuria is said to have mocked the size of the woman’s underwear, and this has stirred mixed reactions by various social media users in the country.
The journalist has further blamed the legislator of causing her physical harm on the body, psychological and emotional trauma.
The incident happened right inside the Inooro FM radio studios during a political show, reports indicated.
The MP was picked by detectives from Westlands Friday morning and driven to Kilimani Police Division for processing.
It was not clear whether he would be taken to court later in the day.
The arrest came after a heightened social media campaign, taunting police of turning a blind eye to the calls for justice.
Kenyans on Twitter used #ArrestMosesKuria hashtag to call for speedy arrest and prosecution of the legislator.
“I questioned him for using slur language during a meeting, right in the presence of children. Instead of defending himself, he rose from his seat and punched me hard that I fell,” the lady can be heard saying.
The legislator has an ongoing case on hate speech allegedly made during the 2017 electioneering period.
