National Assembly Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali is reportedly missing moments after rowdy youths stoned his car in Mumias.
Kapseret legislator, Oscar Sudi has already accused the Orange Democratic Movement of being behind the sudden disappearance of Benjamin Washiali, and threatened to call for mass action if Raila Odinga will not address the nation on the whereabouts of the leader in the next three hours.
The Mumias East Member of Parliament was recently accused of being part of the team of Jubilee Party members opposed to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
The National Assembly Majority Whip faulted claims that he is opposed to the BBI, noting that the BBI taskforce has not made its proposals, making the bill’s content unknown.
“I haven’t opposed it because we haven’t seen it. We want to see its proposals first (Mimi sijapinga BBI kwa maana hatujaiona. Tunataka kuona mapendekezo yake kwanza),” he said.
He made the remarks during an interview on Radio Maisha’s Bunge La Maisha.
The vocal Ruto ally also sought to correct the narrative that the government through Uhuru backs the BBI, claiming that they too are in the dark in what it contains.
“What BBI is enjoying the government’s backing? The proposals are not yet out (BBI gani inaungwa na serikali? Mapendekezo hayajatoka),” he added.
