Kinoti orders arrest of William Ruto over Pipeline Scandal

DCI Boss George Kinoti says they will arrest Ruto over Kenya Pipeline Scandal

Deputy President William Ruto faces imminent arrest as the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti moves swiftly to re-open the Kenya Pipeline scandal where Ruto was adversely mentioned.

Kinoti says he will not hesitate to arrest Ruto if they find him culpable over the plunder of Kenya Pipeline funds.

The DCI boss recently re-opened investigations into a 30-year old case where William Ruto and others were acquired by the court in charges of fraud at the Kenya Pipeline Company.

George Kinoti while admitting that his office had begun an intensive inquiry into the matter, said nobody is untouchable in the renewed fight against graft.

“We are investigating the massive plunder of the Kenya Pipeline Company. Anybody who stole public funds, no matter the stature, no matter the period,, must face the full force of the law. We will arrest and jail them,” said Mr. Kinoti.

The DCI boss threat to arrest Ruto comes in the wake of reports that the DCI had re-opened investigations into the 30-year old case where DP Ruto and others were accused of irregularly hiving off part of Ngong Forest land and selling it to the corporation.

In 2004, Ruto was charged alongside others over the transaction but they were later acquitted and the case dismissed for lack of evidence.

The re-opening of the case has attracted condemnation with many questioning the motive of revisiting a case that was adjudged in court and determined.

The case comes in the wake of sustained onslaught by the DCI and EACC against Ruto and his allies in what has been perceived as a crackdown against those opposed to the handshake.

Jubilee MPs are reading malice considering the DCI has never opened investigations into into the NYS and Health scandal where a family linked to President Uhuru Kenyatta was awarded SH. 100 billion tenders for the supply of portable clinic containers.

The MPs have dared the DCI boss to go ahead and arrest DP Ruto warning of dire consequences.

“Let them dare arrest Ruto and they will face the consequences they have never seen. Kinoti should stop being used by some individuals to jeopardize the relative peace and stability we are currently enjoying as a country”, warned a Jubilee MP.

The bid to arrest Ruto has also attracted criticism from residents of Uasin Gishu who urged the DCI to tread carefully lest he wants to lead the country into chaos.

In a viral video doing rounds online, a die-hard supporter of Ruto accused the DCI of intimidating Ruto and his allies saying if the intimidation persists, they will take it as their personal duty and responsibility to protect the Deputy President.
